Tonight, I'm coming home
Thirty-one years ago, I had no idea where my music would take me.
It took me to your backyards, your fiestas, your carnes asadas, your weddings. It took me to countless concerts, and to all those desveladas where someone always asks for one more song.
Tonight, I’m coming home to Edinburg to take the stage one last time and say thank you.
I’ve been thinking about what tonight means. For three decades, music was how I showed up for South Texas. I’m not walking away from that. I’m taking it somewhere new. The same people who filled those rooms are the people I’m fighting for in Congress.
So I’m asking you to help me close this chapter the right way, and open the next one.
We’ve set a goal of $10,000 by midnight tonight.
That money keeps our ads on the air and our organizers knocking doors in every county of TX-15 as early voting begins. Trump’s allies have already put millions into this race to protect my opponent, and we can’t let their money go unanswered.
If you’ve ever sung along to one of my songs, if you were at one of those backyard parties, or if you just believe South Texas deserves a representative who shows up, stand with me tonight.
Before I take the stage, will you chip in to send me off the right way and get us to $10,000?
Gracias por tantos años y gracias por lo que viene.
